If this module is not available on your account, it means that it is not managed through our platform and you will need to contact your Pension provider directly, in order to confirm any information regarding your past contributions, fund value and information regarding your investments.
The Pensions Overview Tab allows you to monitor and edit your pensions, check any historical contributions and look at future pension projections. This enables you to effectively plan for retirement. In order to access it, please follow the steps below:
- Login to your benefits account.
- Select "Pensions Overview"/"Pension" on the top of your home page.
What sections can I find on the Pensions Overview Tab?
You can access information from contribution percentage, retirement age, details on your investment funds, other pension information you may have and wish to add to the site, to the Pension Projection modeler.
- Shortfall: This shows the difference between the monthly pension income you require and the amount you are estimated to achieve, in today's money. To narrow the shortfall, you may need to reduce your target income, increase your retirement age or increase your contributions.
- Projected Total Retirement Income: This shows the total monthly pension income in today's money, after tax. It assumes that you maintain current contribution levels and you will take 25% of your pension fund as tax free cash. The modeller uses an estimated rate of future investment growth, salary growth and inflation. Where set up, this includes your State Pension and any previous pension values that you have listed, provided those can be taken at the same or an earlier age than the retirement age you have selected.
- Target Retirement Income: This shows the amount of monthly pension income, that you estimate you would require in today's money (after deductions have been made for tax and National Insurance).
- Tax Free Cash: This figure shows 25% of the projected total fund value of your pension fund that you may be able to take as a tax-free lump sum at the retirement age used by this modeller.
Things to consider:
This is a tool that can help you decide how much money to contribute monthly, if there is a specific monthly amount you wish to get from your Pension savings, after retirement.
The values displayed on the modeler are just an estimation/a guide, they will never hold the exact values you can expect to receive.
Please note that this modeler takes into consideration some default and standard elements, such as standard salary increases and inflation percentages. You can read more information on these, by clicking on "View Full Values & Assumptions" from the Contribution Details section.
If the Pensions Overview Tab/ Pension is not listed on the Home Page, you can monitor your pension directly with the provider. Access your pension account for further details.
Information on who the provider is for your company’s pension scheme can be located on the Benefit Information/More Info section of the Pension benefit.
The Projection Overview option is a standard function of the site and cannot be customised to your company's pension plan.
